Post-Tourney Thoughts
Overall, it was just an okay week for the Oracle’s Model. I was skeptical of Jordan Spieth’s top spot, rightly so it appears. He just is not in a form to trust him in strong fields anymore. Scottie wins yet again, which is just insanity. The man is an absolute machine and of course I had him in some lineups but because of my utter failure at the US Open being too reliant on Scottie, he was not in my main lineup. I made some money mostly because of picking some of the right value guys in Akshay Bhatia and Tom Hoge. The wheel spins on and I will continue to write these blogs for the time being. I have had some success outside of the model in identifying players based on their current forms and the key stats, which the writing has been helpful with.
I hope anyone reading this had a better week than me and good luck next week with the Rocket Mortgage Classic!

Post-Tourney Thoughts
What a crazy finish to a major tournament. Rory misses two close range putts and Dechambeau capitalizes. Scottie finally shows human tendencies, and Tyrell Hatton goes from Top-5 contender to a blow-up on Sunday. As far as my wallet; back on track this week. In the money on a couple of lineups and won some key bets on Top-10 finishes and round matchups. Not as strong as maybe I should have been with how the Oracle performed. I had a bit of Scottie narrow vision this week and did not capitalize on utilizing cheaper guys like Bryson, Rory, Cantlay, and/or Finau. I definitely was way too high on Viktor Hovland this week as well, just never had anything going for him. Really hope you faded me on that one. I think I get a bit of confirmation bias when I write about certain guys on the blog and then really want to see them do well so I put them in too many lineups. Where I have improved most post-Oracle era is including Key Stats and Current Form. Helped me identify some money winners in Ludvig Aberg, Russell Henley, and Corey Conners. Still room for individual growth, but I will take being in the green for the week.
In regard to model performance this week, I am really happy. There was a lot of pressure coming from the page viewership bump because of the US Open’s popularity. And the Oracle pretty much delivered (even when Scottie couldn’t). As mentioned a few guys fell off late including Hatton and Horschel. But, when you break it down, the Oracle shortened the field down to 15 players and included all four of the golfers who finished in the Top-3. There still is some intuition involved in picking the right players (clearly since I am not writing about the fortunes I just won) but I uphold that since starting this blog the Oracle has helped narrow down the choices well.
Looking forward, I want to hear from anyone that has utilized the blogs in anyway. Tell me about your methods utilizing the site, all of your successes, failures, and just okays. Also, feel free to give me some feedback in the comments below on how you think the website can improve (please with some understanding that I am just a person trying their best). I really want to make this sort of a journey to a better lineup, and promise that there will never be any pay-walls, subscriptions, etc. If people continue to actually enjoy this content I might put up Google Ads but will always ensure the websites quality for you (no loading page pop-ups or overly-annoying ads).

Post-Tourney Thoughts
It is kind of funny, I feel like the Oracle model has been pretty consistently performing each week since I started it before the Masters. What has changed since I started the blog, is my own performance. I have started overthinking things, confusing myself for an expert because I write a blog that barely anyone actually reads. But yet again the Oracle Model correctly predicted four of the top-10 this week, and identified the best value pick in Adam Hadwin. The biggest letdown for me was Justin Thomas. I was so high on him because of the key stats, but he just is not fully himself at the moment. Tom Kim completely losing his bearings mid-tournament also was a blow to the model. However, I really believe a smarter lineup setter and gambler than myself could definitely utilize this model to success, and I am hoping I can get myself back on track this upcoming week.

Post-Tourney Thoughts
This week was a very hectic one for me watching the Oracle’s leaderboard shift places constantly. At one point my top two picks for the week Alex Noren and Maverick McNealy were staring at a missed cut. Luckily, McNealy charged all the way from in the hundreds to tied for 7th place. Noren unfortunately could not pull anything like that off making my main slate Draftkings lineup a complete bust. I managed to scrounge a couple of betting wins with the help of Rory, Keith Mitchell and my new favorite player the Maverick. Overall, this has been a solid week, in my opinion, for the model. But, I think the lesson I have learned when it comes to lineup setting is I have to account for the hot-hand. The winner Robert MacIntyre wasn’t near the top of any of the key stat categories during the whole of the season but his last five tournaments have been building him towards this win. I cannot add the last five tournament stats to the model but I can intuitively try to identify the players that fit into the MacIntyre mold for the upcoming weeks. Nothing is ever perfect, but 40% of the Oracle’s Top-10 being correct is a positive step in my mind and I hope if you did take any of this advice it was the hits and not the misses.
Thanks for everyone reading this page, this process has been really fun for me.
